Back to School Information
![]() |
Hello Woodridge Elementary Parents,
I hope you had a safe and happy summer. As we prepare to welcome our students and staff back to school for the 26-27 school year, I wanted to share some information with you in hopes to ensure a smooth transition for our school community.
School Supply Lists
Can be found on the website, and also with this link.
New Family Tour
Monday, August 10th 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
This is a self-guided tour through the elementary school for new families so they can get a peak at the school to ease this transition.
Our administrative team will be available to answer questions.
Families should enter at the main office, doors by the flag poles.
We will begin in the cafeteria.
Class Lists
This year families will be able to see their child’s teacher when logging into Parent Square. More detailed information will be provided next week to families on how to access this information.
Open House
Based on feedback from last year’s parent survey, families shared it would be helpful for our Open House to have fewer people and feel less crowded at one time. Our Building Leadership Team discussed this and found a solution.
Open House will be split into two sessions; one for grades K-2 and one for grades 3-5, on the same evening, Monday, August 17.
Monday, August 17
Grades K-2 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Grade 3-5 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
We look forward to welcoming everyone back to WES for Open House.
During the evening, families will walk to the classrooms, where they will meet their teacher, find their locker and seat, and drop off school supplies.
We would also like to encourage families to visit the cafeteria where they will be able to:
ask questions of our transportation director, Rob Williams
ask questions of our food service director, Tina Hastings
pick up permanent car rider numbers
sign up for PTO and other community organizations.
Bus Information
Information regarding transportation can be found on the transportation page or by calling 330.928.6312
Helpful Hints
With the anticipation of a new school year, there can be many big emotions for kids and grown-ups. This is very normal, and there are small things we can do to support each other through this.
1) Start a bed time routine sooner than you want. No one wants summer to end, but being well rested for the start of school is KEY. Even if bed time begins a few minutes earlier every night leading up to the start of school, it will make a big difference.
2) Ask questions, gather information. There are no silly questions when it comes to the safety and well-being of your children. They are your most valued possession, and we understand that. If you have a question or need information, don't be shy, please reach out to any members of our school team for answers. We are here for you.
3) Please be respectful and grant all members of our school community grace. As parents, students and staff get into the routine of being back at school there will be things that go great and things that need attention. Respectful communication is the key to good problem solving. Whether it's in your neighborhood, at the school office, in the parking lot, at the bus stop, or in the car rider line-every interaction matters. We are better together…so let’s create the best possible school community for our students, they deserve it.
We are excited to see all of you soon, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you have.
Sincerely,
Beth Harrington
